Job Summary

The Facilities Manager will oversee the maintenance and operation of the school's facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, managing building systems, and supporting school events and curriculum activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the School Building Management System (BMS) to ensure optimal facility operations
  • Monitor and coordinate essential services such as lighting, power, and water, resolving issues promptly and contributing to cost-saving initiatives
  • Act as designated fire and safety manager by maintaining and testing fire systems and equipment, keeping accurate records, and updating policies and procedures as needed
  • Ensure the school complies with all current health and safety legislation through regular audits and corrective actions
  • Develop and implement planned maintenance and repair programs to sustain facility standards
  • Prepare financial forecasts and budgets related to facility management to support resource planning
  • Coordinate cleaning services to maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and students
  • Obtain and maintain all necessary government regulations and licenses, including Food, Lifts, and Swimming Pool certifications
  • Set up audiovisual systems for events held in the auditorium to support school functions
  • Review and renew preventive maintenance contracts to ensure continuous service quality
  • Escort authorities (SP, NEA, SLA, SCDF) and vendors during site inspections and preventive maintenance works
  • Certify tax invoices upon completion of contracted work to ensure accurate financial processing
  • Support curriculum activities and events by preparing classrooms, auditorium, and other learning spaces as required

Required competencies and certifications

  • Professional Diploma or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building and facility management, including facilities planning, building maintenance, custodial services, and security
  • Experience working in an International School or similar educational environment
  • Proficiency in IT to manage facility systems and communication tools
  • Strong oral, written, and ICT communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders and document processes
