JOB TITLE: FACILITY MANAGER

ROLE
The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of facilities operations to ensure a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role plays a critical part in supporting the school's start-up phase by establishing operational systems, vendor management processes, preventive maintenance schedules, safety protocols, and compliance documentation required for school readiness and ongoing operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the daily operations of all school facilities including buildings, classrooms, offices, common spaces, science labs, sports facilities, and outdoor areas.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
- Oversee building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and IT infrastructure where relevant.
- Respond promptly to facility faults, breakdowns, and emergency repairs.
- Ensure the school complies with local regulations including LTA, BCA, SCDF, SFA, MOM, NEA, and relevant education facility standards.
- Maintain all required statutory certificates (e.g. Fire Safety Certificate, elevator/pressurization system inspections, building inspection reports).
- Lead emergency preparedness, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and incident reporting.
- Oversee workplace safety standards and risk assessments (RA, SWP, RAMS).
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage vendors covering cleaning, security, landscaping, pest control, maintenance, waste management, and building services.
- Establish SLAs, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with agreed deliverables.
- Coordinate renovation, fit out, or upgrading works with contractors and consultants.
- Any other duties as assigned by your Line Manager or Management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma/Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years relevant experience in facility management school or education sector experience is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore regulatory requirements (LTA, SCDF, BCA, NEA, & MOM ).
- Proven experience managing contractors, maintenance operations, safety protocols, and emergency response.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Hands-on, resourceful, and able to respond to operational issues promptly.
- Manage and be responsible for out of hours incidents e.g. breakdowns, events, emergencies.
