The Facilities Engineering team at Seagate is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of critical facility and utility systems that support cleanroom manufacturing operations. Our scope includes Chiller and Cooling Tower systems, Compressed Dry Air, Vacuum, Process Cooling Water, HT/LT Electrical Distribution, and Ultra‑Pure Water (UPW).

About the role - you will:
The Facilities Engineering Specialist IV is an experienced technical role responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of critical facilities and utility systems that support cleanroom manufacturing operations. The role ensures uninterrupted production through timely response, preventive maintenance, and effective coordination with internal teams and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Operations & Maintenance
- Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and facilities systems to ensure reliable plant operations.
- Operate and maintain facility systems in accordance with company standards, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Respond promptly to system or equipment faults to minimize downtime and production impact.
- Manage and resolve facility incidents affecting manufacturing operations, such as power interruptions, utility system failures, or cleanroom-related issues.
Monitoring, Control & Reliability
- Monitor cleanroom and utility Critical‑to‑Quality (CTQ) parameters via Facilities Management System (FMS) or SCADA systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues using system schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Apply working knowledge of electrical equipment, PLC wiring concepts, and system interfacing.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Coordinate and supervise contractors for scheduled maintenance, repairs, shutdowns, and overhaul activities.
- Prepare scopes of work and support evaluation of vendor quotations.
- Ensure contractor activities comply with workplace safety, quality, and operational requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Documentation
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance strategies and system reliability.
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS/FMS) to document work orders, maintenance history, and activities.
- Maintain accurate records to support audits, traceability, and knowledge transfer.
Shift & Operational Support
- Support daily shift operations, including effective communication and handover between shifts.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability during normal operations and incident response.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Supervisor in support of business needs.
About you:
- Diploma or Higher NITEC in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation / Control Engineering, or other relevant technical disciplines.
- Minimum relevant experience in facilities equipment operation and maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting cleanroom or semiconductor manufacturing facilities is an advantage.
- Ability to work rotating 12‑hour shifts.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
