YOUR ROLE

The Facilities Manager (Electrical) reports to the Facilities Director and is responsible for overseeing the management of Electrical System engineering, operations and maintenance that support wafer fab operations while meeting the highest standards of safety, quality, reliability, and cost efficiency. The Facilities Manager (Electrical) is also the site Energy Manager.

The Facilities Manager (Electrical) is responsible for Facilities strategy, planning, and service delivery, with a particular focus on electrical systems, power reliability, energy management, utilities optimization, and sustainability initiatives. This includes overseeing the operation, maintenance, and improvement of electrical infrastructure, energy systems, and related facilities equipment, as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and EHS requirements.

The Facilities Manager (Electrical) works closely with site management to ensure a safe, efficient, compliant, and reliable operating environment for employees and manufacturing activities, while proactively pursuing best practices for improved efficiency, reduced energy consumption, enhanced reliability, and lower operating cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the site electrical systems.
  • Oversee the safe and reliable operation of the 66 kV substation and downstream electrical distribution network.
  • Ensure the availability and performance of critical electrical assets, including:
    • Transformers
    • MV/LV switchgear
    • Protection relays
    • UPS systems
    • Emergency power systems
    • Distribution panels and critical loads
  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Monitor electrical system performance, troubleshoot faults, and lead root cause analysis for failures and repeated incidents.
  • Manage site-wide energy consumption, efficiency, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Track and report key energy and reliability metrics, including power usage, demand, power factor, and downtime.
  • Support capital projects, upgrades, and lifecycle planning for electrical infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Enforce safe work practices such as lockout/tagout, permit-to-work, isolation, and arc-flash safety.
  • Coordinate with utilities, contractors, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operation and timely issue resolution.
  • Prepare and present reports on equipment condition, maintenance status, energy performance, and improvement actions.
  • Support emergency response and business continuity planning for electrical incidents and power disruptions.
Your Skills & Experiences

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10 - 15 years of experience in facilities management, electrical systems, and energy management in a Semiconductor manufacturing or high-tech manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Strong experience in managing 66 kV substations and critical power infrastructure
  • Knowledge of sustainability, energy reduction, and utility efficiency programs.
  • Familiarity with LEAN, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • SCEM - Singapore Certified Energy Manager
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of excel, office suite..;
  • English business proficiency
