Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Engineer to join our team Singapore, Tuas, responsible for the efficient and safe operation, maintenance, and optimization of our facility's critical infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will possess 4-6 years of progressive experience in facilities engineering, with a strong emphasis on boiler, HVAC, chiller, and black utility systems.
This role ensures the facility meets health and safety standards, legal requirements, and operational efficiency goals, contributing to the overall functionality and sustainability of the site.


What You'll Do:
  • Oversee the routine maintenance, repair, and operational performance of all facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with specialized expertise in boilers, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, chillers, and black utilities (e.g., steam, compressed air, industrial water, diesel generators).
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of equipment and systems.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to identify potential issues, assess equipment condition, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and supervise external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and projects, ensuring work is completed to specification and safety standards.
  • Lead or support projects related to facility improvements, upgrades, modifications, and new installations, from planning and design review to commissioning and validation.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, diagnose root causes, and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Monitor and optimize utility consumption (e.g., energy, water) to identify and implement cost-saving measures and improve energy efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance, utility consumption, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, and capital projects related to facility infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs and ensure that facility systems align with business objectives.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and provide technical guidance and support as needed.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in facilities engineering or maintenance, specifically with industrial or commercial facilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of: Boiler systems (steam and hot water). HVAC systems, including air handling units, VAVs, and associated controls. Chiller plants and associated cooling towers. Black utility systems, such as compressed air, industrial gases, and diesel generators.
  • Strong knowledge of building management systems (BMS) for monitoring and controlling facility operations.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and building codes.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite AutoCAD experience is a plus.
