Job Description: Engineer - Facilities Maintenance (HVAC)
Role Summary
The Engineer - Facilities Maintenance (HVAC) is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role ensures a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for building occupants while supporting business continuity and compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, and associated equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability and minimise downtime.
- Attend to HVAC-related breakdowns and coordinate repairs with internal teams and external contractors.
- Monitor system performance via the Building Management System (BMS) and identify abnormalities or improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, safety, and statutory requirements (e.g. BCA, NEA, WSH).
- Supervise contractors and service providers, ensuring work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to schedules.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and recommend measures to optimise system performance and reduce energy consumption.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address comfort issues and operational needs.
- Plan, schedule and perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance work activities on mechanical equipment and system.
- Provide technical support during audits, inspections, and emergency situations.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
2-4 years of relevant experience in HVAC or facilities maintenance roles.
Working knowledge of HVAC systems and building services operations.
Familiarity with local regulations, codes of practice, and workplace safety standards.
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Good communication and coordination skills.
