The opportunity

Geopolitics has become a defining force shaping the global business environment. Companies, markets, Governments, and technology ecosystems are increasingly influenced by geopolitical competition, economic security policies, regulatory divergence, and supply chain realignment.

The EY Parthenon Geostrategic Business Group (GBG) continues to expand and is seeking for new Associate Partner to join our global geopolitical advisory team. For nearly 10 years, the GBG has helped organizations understand and respond to the increasing influence of geopolitics on markets, regulation, supply chains and corporate strategy.

Our team combine deep geopolitical insight with strong industry and commercial experience, enabling them to translate geopolitical developments into practical, actionable advice for senior executives and boards.

The Team - EY Parthenon Geostrategic Business Group

The EY Parthenon Geostrategic Business Group combines geopolitical expertise with sector and commercial insight to advise boards, executives, and investors on issues such as:

  • Reimaging business strategy in a turbulent world
  • Strategic investment and market entry decisions in geopolitically complex markets
  • Economic security policy, sanctions and regulatory fragmentation
  • Supply chain resilience and industrial policy
  • Energy security and the geopolitics of the energy transition
  • Technology competition, digital policy and AI governance
  • Geopolitical risk analysis, strategic scenario planning and table top simulations and
  • Geopoliticalrisk governance systems and processes.

The group works closely with EY teams across strategy, supply chain, risk, transactions, economics and sector teams to deliver integrated advisory services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and governments.

Your key responsibilities

This is an external-facing role that combines thought leadership, client advisory, and commercial business development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advise clients on geopolitical developments and their implications for business strategy, investment and operations
  • Support clients in responding to geopolitical disruption across supply chains, markets and regulatory environments
  • Conduct geostrategic risk assessments and scenario analysis
  • Develop thought leadership on emerging geopolitical trends
  • Support business development and the growth of EY geostrategic advisory capabilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across EY including Strategy, Supply Chain, Risk, Transactions and sector practices
  • Contribute to the development of methodologies, tools and frameworks for geopolitical advisory.

Skills and attributes for success

We are looking for individuals who can combine geopolitical analysis with commercial experience:

  • Strong expertise in geopolitics, international affairs or trade
  • Significant industry, commercial or sector experience
  • Ability to translate complex geopolitical developments into commercially relevant insights
  • Commercial mindset with ability to develop client relationships and identify and develop advisory opportunities
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience engaging with senior executives and board-level stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including thought leadership
  • Ability to operate effectively in international and multicultural environments
  • Strong collaboration skills within a global, matrixed organization

Typical backgrounds may include:

  • Senior roles in government, international organizations, think tanks, or policy institutions with an economics focus
  • Strategy or advisory roles in consulting, financial services, or multinational corporations
  • Industry leadership roles with exposure to global markets and geopolitical risk
  • Academic or research expertise combined with commercial advisory experience.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • At least 12 years of relevant professional experience
  • A demonstrated combination experience in geopolitics, trade, industry and commercial advisory experience
  • Experience advising senior executives, policymakers or major organizations
