Expert Algorithm Engineer - MPID Team

About the Team

The Marketplace Intelligence and Data team's mission is to build sustainable and efficient data and intelligence products to facilitate Shopee's business development. The team is responsible for Shopee e-commerce data warehouse construction, merchant and operation data product construction, all-link traffic data, product algorithms, including product release, control, information optimization, SPU library and its comparison business, marketing algorithms, including Merchandising, Product Selection, Recommendation Algorithm, Evaluation Algorithms, User Profiling, and in addition, basic AI capabilities, such as Machine Translation, Speech Algorithm, Image Algorithm, and Real-person Authentication.

Job Description

• Lead the design and evolution of core algorithms for AIGC detection, media forensics, face intelligence, liveness detection, deepfake defense, document understanding, fraud detection, multimodal reasoning, and AI agents.

• Own end-to-end algorithmic solutions and drive research-to-production translation.

• Define technical directions in multimodal and vision-language models, trustworthy AI and biometric security, as well as generative model detection and provenance analysis.

• Mentor senior engineers and act as the technical bar-raiser for major algorithmic decisions.

• Partner with product and engineering teams to align algorithm strategy with business impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, AI, Technology, or other related fields.

• At least 3 years of full time Algorithm/Machine Learning Engineering experience.

• Experience building reliable, high-impact LLM/AI Products is preferred.

• Recognized technical depth in the related technical fields.

• Strong hands-on expertise and modern deep learning stacks.

• Proven track record leading large-scale systems from concept to production.

• Excellent technical judgment in ambiguous problem spaces.

• Ownership mindset and long-term thinking.
