Hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore conducts interdisciplinary research on coastal protection, flood risk management, and climate-resilient infrastructure, supporting Singapore's long-term climate adaptation strategy. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our growing team and contribute to building a resilient future for Singapore and the region.
This role will support CFI's partnership engagement, communications, and events functions. The role offers a dynamic mix of stakeholder engagement, creative content development, and event management, supporting CFI's mission to build visibility and communicate research impact to diverse audiences including the public. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFI team and be mentored to develop and grow in this role.

Partnership Engagement
- Support the Partnerships & Technology Translation Lead in coordinating partnership activities, such as dialogue sessions, meetings, and hosted visits.
- Support the administration of partnership documentation, including Non- Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and Research Collaboration Agreements (RCAs).
- Support the Partnerships & Technology Translation Lead in technology translation and intellectual property (IP) matters, including coordinating processes related to IP identification, patenting, licensing, and commercialisation as required.
b. Communications & Content
- Manage and grow CFI's external communications presence across the website, LinkedIn, newsletter (eDM), and other digital platforms.
- Develop engaging content by working closely with CFI's Principal Investigators and researchers and manage the communications vendor when required.
- Support the collation of press and media materials and liaise with the university communications office.
- Coordinate internal announcements and maintain CFI's internal communications platform for researchers.
c. Events Management
- Plan and organise CFI workshops and seminars, covering venue booking, logistics, publicity, registration, and post-event follow-up.
- Support the Partnerships & Technology Translation Lead in organising major CFI events, including the CFI Annual Symposium and the CFI booth at Singapore International Water Week (SIWW), covering stakeholder liaison and vendor management.
- Coordinate with Principal Investigators (PIs), external speakers, and partners to develop event programmes and promotional materials.
D. Shared Team Responsibilities
- Support the tracking and promotion of educational programmes offered by CFI and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager (Admin Lead) or CFI Directors.
- Contribute to general office duties, including organising office bonding events on a rostered basis with the CFI admin team.
Job Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
- Relevant experience of 2-3 years in partnerships coordination, communications, or events management in an academic or related environment would be an advantage.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital tools including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress), social media platforms (LinkedIn), email marketing tools, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and ability to ideate and produce engaging content across multiple platforms (web, social media, print, eDM) is an advantage.
- Strong organisational, project management, and time management abilities.
- A collaborative team player who can work independently, take initiative in a fast-paced environment, and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- An interest in environmental sustainability, coastal protection, or related research is an advantage.
- Open to fixed-term contract.
