Job Summary
You will assist the SVP Legal and Compliance and work closely with legal managers and officers, legal members, compliance members, internal auditors, finance teams and other teams in various legal and related areas as may be required of the Legal function.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with regional teams to establish and improve legal processes that support ongoing activities and ensure operational efficiency
- Support the standardisation and consistency of legal and related documentation across the region to enhance compliance and clarity
- Develop and implement structured legal risk assessment and escalation procedures to proactively manage regional legal risks
- Compile, review, and assess contractual and legal risks across the region and coordinate follow-up actions to mitigate exposure
- Facilitate inter-departmental and regional collaboration to achieve coordinated and efficient outcomes on matters of common interest
- Draft, prepare, and review legal agreements, templates, and documents to ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives
- Provide legal support, advice, and guidance to internal stakeholders to enable informed decision-making
- Monitor regional legal and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and timely adaptation of policies
- Conduct training and awareness sessions to enhance legal knowledge and compliance across teams
- Provide legal advice to senior management and business units in Singapore to support business operations
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring contracts align with business objectives while minimising legal and commercial risks
- Develop and maintain legal documents and contract templates to support consistent and efficient contracting
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and operational risks to protect the organisation's interests
- Manage dispute matters or investigations by coordinating internal responses and external counsel as needed
- Instruct and manage external counsels to ensure effective legal representation and advice
- Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities by providing legal input and due diligence support
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and group policies to maintain legal and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, Finance, and other teams on projects requiring legal input to ensure comprehensive risk management
- Perform any other tasks related to the role as assigned to support the Legal function
Required competencies and certifications
- A degree in law from a main university in Singapore
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in legal review, contract vetting, and providing legal advisory support
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and willingness to self-learn and upskill
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Openness to training and professional development
