Job Description

The Industry Engagement and Partnerships (IEP) division under the Office of Deputy President (Research and Technology) is seeking motivated professionals with experience in contracts management.

As part of IEP, this role will be responsible to (i) facilitate the negotiation, review and execution of agreements for research collaborations and (ii) support research collaborations between NUS/ NUS researchers and external parties, including public sector organisations and industry partners.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate with external parties on research related agreements including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements, memorandum of agreement, project agreements, clinical trial agreements, framework and master agreements.
  • Work with legal counsels, grant management and IP management teams to draft, review and finalise research related agreements.
  • Advise and assist NUS researchers on research related matters, IP policies and compliance of internal policies for research contracts.
  • Where required or necessary, participate and support initiatives to attract research funding from industries and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Recognised degree in Engineering, Sciences, Life Sciences, or Law. Minimum of 2 years experience in legal support or contracts management functions is preferred however, candidates without experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge in basic drafting, reviewing, negotiating and management of research related agreements.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of, or have experience in, working with university research, or intellectual property management or protection will be favourably considered.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills to engage and work with the team, researchers and external parties.
  • Adaptable and able to multi-task.
  • Meticulous individual and highly motivated and independent self-starter with the ability and flexibility to deal complex business, interpersonal, and intra-organizational issues.
