What You'll Do
- Develop, review and maintain technical specifications, engineering standards and design requirements for transmission equipment, power cable systems, substations and associated transmission assets.
- Conduct feasibility studies, conceptual planning, technical assessments and engineering design reviews for transmission network development, asset replacement and enhancement projects.
- Prepare and execute tender exercises, including technical evaluations, tender clarifications and recommendations for contract award.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, technical submissions, inspection and test plans, manufacturing documents and commissioning procedures to ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
- Attend and witness Type Tests, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), factory audits and factory inspections to verify equipment quality, technical compliance and contractual requirements.
- Investigate equipment faults, system failures and operational incidents, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve asset reliability and performance.
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including design reviews, installation, testing, commissioning, energisation and technical troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with government agencies, consultants, OEMs, contractors and internal stakeholders on engineering, regulatory, utility coordination, wayleave and Integrated Planning Approval (IPA) matters.
- Manage engineering consultants and specialist studies to ensure quality, timely delivery and compliance with engineering requirements.
- Evaluate new technologies, engineering solutions and international best practices to enhance transmission system reliability, safety, sustainability and asset lifecycle performance.
- Develop and review engineering policies, technical guidelines and standard specifications to strengthen engineering governance and asset management.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the Transmission Engineering team.
What You'll Need
- Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board Singapore, preferably with a specialisation in Power Engineering.
- Relevant experience in transmission engineering, high-voltage equipment, power cable systems, substations or electrical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of transmission systems, engineering standards (IEC, IEEE and CIGRE), technical specifications and engineering design principles.
- Experience in technical specifications, tender evaluation, engineering design reviews, Type Tests, FAT, commissioning or engineering investigations will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative team player committed to engineering excellence, safety and continuous improvement.
