[What the role is]
NYP Library is seeking a library executive to support day-to-day operations by delivering frontline services, managing collections, and assisting users in accessing resources.
[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities
- Deliver frontline library services to effectively support teaching, learning and research needs of the NYP community.
- Perform collection management functions including daily shelving, stock-taking, and evaluation of materials, to facilitate easy access to resources.
- Coordinate systematic collection checks and weeding exercises in accordance with collection management guidelines.
- Manage and ensure the daily upkeep and optimal functioning of library facilities and equipment.
- Contribute to data collection and reporting on usage, space, and service performance.
- Contribute to the library's engagement strategy by supporting initiatives that address the information and curriculum requirements, such as the curation of resources, the delivery of library events and training sessions.
- Participate in projects, task forces and committees in support of NYP/library initiatives.
- Recommend solutions to streamline workflows for efficiency and perform any other related duties as assigned.
[What we are looking for]
What we are looking for:
- Revelant qualification in Library & Information Science, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
- Experience in an educational or customer-facing environment would be advantageous
- Proficiency with digital tools and technologies to support digital initiatives.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Effective team player with attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
- Good engagement, communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills.
