Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions – whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, corporate development, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.
Corporate Development leads the Bank's inorganic and strategic partnership initiatives to maximize the Bank's strategic, competitive and financial position. The Corporate Development team supports the Bank in the origination and execution of key strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other ad hoc strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Set and deliver the Bank's inorganic growth and strategic partnership agenda, in partnership with business and function heads.
- Originate and evaluate M&A, investments, divestments, JVs and partnerships; develop strategic rationale and business cases.
- Lead end-to-end execution including valuation/modelling, structuring, due diligence, negotiation, approvals and documentation.
- Manage senior governance: prepare materials for management and Board/committees; coordinate decision forums and key stakeholders.
- Drive value realisation post-deal (integration/separation and synergy delivery) and build a high-performing corporate development team.
Requirements:
- 15+ years experience in Corporate Development / M&A / Strategy / Investment Banking / Corporate Finance (banking or financial services preferred).
- Proven deal execution track record (buy-side and/or sell-side): valuation, structuring, due diligence, negotiation and closing.
- Strong corporate finance fundamentals (financial statements, valuation, modelling) and working knowledge of key legal/regulatory and governance considerations.
- Executive-level stakeholder management: ability to influence C-suite/ExCo and support Board/committee decision-making.
- Strong leadership: build, lead and develop teams; deliver through cross-functional, multi-market programmes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to synthesise complex topics into crisp materials.
- Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related discipline; MBA/CFA advantageous.
