Job Description
The Executive Director (ED), Global Funds & Financial Sponsors (GFFS), is responsible for leading client coverage, origination, and relationship management for private equity firms, infrastructure funds, digital infrastructure, sovereign wealth funds, and other financial sponsors across the global network.
The role focuses on driving revenue growth through lending, capital markets, and treasury solutions, regional cash management/liabilities drive while maintaining strong risk discipline and alignment with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Client Coverage & Relationship Management
Lead senior relationships with Financial Sponsor clients (e.g., Private Equity, Infrastructure Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds), acting as a trusted advisor and developing account strategies to deepen wallet share in our network and franchise markets.
Deal Origination & Execution
Originate and structure financing solutions including acquisition finance, subscription facilities, and NAV financing, working closely with product partners (e.g., Capital Markets, Syndications, Transaction Banking) to deliver integrated solutions and drive successful deal execution.
Revenue Delivery & Portfolio Management
Own and deliver revenue targets across lending and fee-based products, while actively managing the credit portfolio, including monitoring exposures, covenant compliance, and overall asset quality.
Risk & Governance
Ensure all transactions adhere to internal credit policies and MAS regulatory requirements, maintaining strong risk discipline, proper documentation, and audit readiness. Work closely with Risk to structure transactions within acceptable parameters.
Market Insight & Strategy
Maintain strong awareness of Financial Sponsor trends, fund structures, and competitive dynamics, and provide insights to inform business strategy and product development.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with regional teams on cross-border opportunities, influence internal stakeholders, and support the development and mentoring of junior team members.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of relevant banking experience with strong exposure to Financial Sponsors coverage, including a proven track record in originating and executing complex structured financing transactions and managing senior client relationships.
- Demonstrates strong credit analysis and structuring capabilities, with deep understanding of fund structures and financing solutions and familiarity with capital markets and syndicated lending.
- Possesses strong commercial acumen, effective stakeholder management and influencing skills, and the ability to balance revenue growth with sound risk discipline, underpinned by high integrity and alignment with conduct and compliance standards.
