1-YR Contract
Office Location: Joo Koon
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Overview
This role supports the day-to-day quality and governance of product data on attributes, barcodes/GTINs, units of measure, hierarchy - across its current system of record (SAP) and as it moves to new platforms. He/She keeps supplier, internal, and system-submitted data complete, accurate, and standards-compliant; runs data quality routines; maintains the product data dictionary and model documentation; and guides junior team members on data quality practice. Scope adapts as data domains transition off legacy systems and this role executes product data operations wherever the system of record sits at the time.
Key Responsibilities
Catalogue operations
- Support end-to-end article master data creation and maintenance for the catalogue domain (SAP and/or PIM as applicable): attribute entry, GTIN/UOM/hierarchy setup, and query resolution with suppliers and internal teams
- Process data change requests and bulk updates within agreed SLAs, using system tools where available and structured manual/spreadsheet workflows where not
- Act as the catalogue data point of contact during the One SAP transition, ensuring business-as-usual data operations continue uninterrupted as the domain moves between systems
Data quality
- Own daily data quality monitoring for catalogue attributes - completeness, accuracy, validity - using dashboards/exception reports are available in the system of record at the time
- Manage the exception queue end-to-end: triage by root cause (supplier submission, internal entry, system sync), assign fixes, chase closure, escalate blockers
- Run reconciliation checks between systems (e.g. PIM–SAP, or SAP–interim tools) during any parallel-run or transition period
- Prepare weekly and monthly data quality reports by domain, with trend analysis and recommended fixes
- Plan and execute data cleansing and remediation exercises with product master data and catalogue operations, including bulk validation and correction
- Develop the supplier data quality scorecard and run follow-up sessions to improve supplier submission quality
Data governance & product data model
- Maintain the product data dictionary: attribute definitions, formats, mandatory/optional rules, valid value lists, and validation rules - kept current as attributes change
- Support definition and maintenance of the product data model: attributes, hierarchies, variants, units of measure, and validation rules agreed in design workshops
- Log, assess, and route product data model and attribute change requests for approval
- Maintain data ownership records (who creates, approves, maintains each data set) across commercial, supply chain, and operations
- Audit DAM assets (once available) against agreed taxonomy, file naming, and metadata standards; report and follow up on gaps
Data migration & platform transition
- Support data migration and validation as catalogue data moves between systems: field mapping checks, sample-based verification, defect logging during UAT and hypercare
- Define data quality rules and validation checks as further domains (site, assortment, pricing, promotion) move out of SAP under One SAP
- Document standard operating procedures for data quality and governance routines, updating them as the system of record changes
Job Requirements
- Degree in business, information systems, engineering, or related field
- 1-2 years in master data, catalogue operations, or data quality - retail, FMCG, or e-commerce background preferred
- Working knowledge of SAP material management (MM), including units of measure and product hierarchy; hands-on PIM or DAM experience is a strong advantage
- Strong spreadsheet skills (Google Apps Script, lookups, pivot tables, large data sets); SQL or reporting tool exposure is a plus
- Experience supporting a system implementation, data migration, or UAT is an advantage
- Able to document standards clearly and get cross-functional teams to follow them
- Meticulous and process-minded, with the maturity to work independently and escalate the right things at the right time
