Excavator Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and related heavy machinery for earthworks, trenching, drainage, utility maintenance, site clearance, and backfilling

• Perform precise excavation works in confined or live facility environments

• Conduct daily pre-operation checks on equipment including engine, hydraulics, tracks, and safety systems

• Carry out basic preventive maintenance and report defects promptly

• Ensure machinery is clean and in good working condition

• Coordinate with site supervisors, facility managers, and safety officers to execute works according to plans and permits

• Follow method statements, risk assessments, and work schedules

• Support site setup, including barricading and traffic control where required

• Adhere strictly to Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and relevant authority requirements (MOM, LTA, PUB, BCA)

• Participate in toolbox meetings and ensure compliance with safe work procedures

• Maintain records of equipment usage and daily work activities

• Report incidents, near-misses, and operational issues

Requirements

• Valid Singapore Excavator Operator certification (Hydraulic Excavator Operation, Underground Cable Detection)

• Possess Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) certification

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant excavator operating experience
