Responsibility Statement
The EVP Commercial Asia-Pacific is responsible for adapting and implementing the commercial strategy across the Asia & Pacific region. Acting as the primary point of contact for APAC representatives of brand partners, this role oversees commercial relationships with international and regional suppliers, including negotiations, procurement, and category management.
The scope includes managing supplier contracts in Japan and Hainan, and driving commercial and offer development in Cambodia, Singapore Cruise Retail, Australia, and New Zealand.
The key mission of the role is to maximise profitability and enhance operational excellence through an efficient, customercentric approach, while adapting global strategies to the specific needs of each market.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy
- Define and implement the regional commercial and purchasing strategy in alignment with the global strategy.
- Oversee category management to ensure optimal assortment, pricing, and promotional performance.
- Provide inputs to central teams to support global strategy development and strengthen brand relationships.
Supplier Management
- Lead supplier contract negotiations across key markets, including rebate and incentive structures.
- Foster strong collaboration with international brand partners and regional vendors to secure competitive commercial conditions.
- Supervise purchasing and category teams across multiple countries, ensuring consistency, compliance, and high performance.
Business Monitoring
- Monitor regional commercial KPIs (e.g., margin, sellthrough, inventory levels, aging stock) and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Partner closely with local General Managers and crossfunctional teams to support business growth and operational effectiveness.
Job Requirements
- Extensive seniorlevel experience in retail, purchasing, or category management (typically 15+ years), ideally within travel retail or FMCG.
- Proven track record in leading multicountry commercial teams and delivering sustainable margin growth.
- Strong negotiation capabilities with experience managing largescale and complex supplier contracts.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate global strategies into effective regional and local execution.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to manage remote and multicultural teams.
- Frequent travel is required.
