Events Coordinator (Temp)

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a temporary Events Coordinator to join our Singapore office for 6-8 months. In this role, you will report to our APAC Workplace and Events Lead and will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of Singapore events. This includes projects like employee and intern engagement planning, operational office responsibilities, day-of event management, and event marketing. 

The ideal candidate will be a culture champion for our Singapore office with the big-picture vision to craft memorable experiences, the attention to detail to ensure seamless execution, and the ability to build excitement and anticipation through effective communication. We're looking for a creative problem solver with a no task is too small or too big attitude who will create events that not only reflect our culture of inclusive togetherness, but amplify it.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to bring office culture to life through experiences 
• Ownership of community-building events for Singapore employees 
• Assist with conceptualization & execution of monthly office events including snack drops, team dinners, kids day, internship programming, team retreats, and our annual office party
• Partner closely with our vendor to lead weekly lunch and snack menu planning while ensuring that expenditures remain within budget
• Provide front desk coverage support as needed, serving as the first point of contact for guests and deliveries
• Build enthusiasm for events through various communication tools, including email and Slack
• Provide operational support for upcoming large-scale projects
• Write engaging and concise communications to broad and diverse audiences  
• Assist with facilities and office issues as they arise, including basic troubleshooting of office equipment 

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with strategic event planning 
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to project manage your own workload and quickly reprioritize tasks as needed
• Strong decision-making skills
• Extensive experience in medium- to large-scale planning production, with keen attention to detail 
• Passionate about building communities and fostering strong employee relationships
• Experience researching, negotiating, and working with external vendors 
• Comfort addressing fluid and open-ended problems
• Skilled at turning creative visions into reality
• Experience working on cross-functional projects with many collaborators and stakeholders
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours/days to support company events
• Ability to travel as needed to support company events
• Ability to work in a 100% in-office role
