Core Responsibilities
- Event planning and coordination: Assist in developing event plans, managing timelines, and overseeing logistics like venue setup, catering, and equipment.
- Staff and vendor management: Coordinate and manage event staff, volunteers, and external vendors and suppliers, including negotiating contracts and ensuring quality standards.
- On-site management: Supervise the execution of events, manage on-ground operations, and troubleshoot issues as they arise in real-time.
- Budget and administration: Support budget tracking, manage expenses, and handle administrative tasks like maintaining inventory and processing invoices.
- Health and safety: Ensure all events comply with health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Post-event evaluation: Conduct post-event analysis, gather feedback, and provide recommendations for future improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in event management or a similar role.
- Skills: Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities excellent communication and interpersonal skills problem-solving and decision-making skills leadership and team management skills.
- Technical skills: Proficiency with event management software and tools is often required.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, or a related field is often preferred.
Typical Work Environment
