What To Expect

Tesla is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join the Policy Team to support electric vehicle charging policy, including regulatory interventions in APAC. In this role, you will play a critical role in shaping and influencing the political, regulatory, and fiscal frameworks that support Tesla Charging Mission in APAC.

To be successful in this role, you should be passionate about Tesla's mission, possess strong written and oral communication skills, and be able to combine strategy and detail. Legislative and regulatory advocacy in the region is needed, combined with sound understanding of the EV charging landscape. Preference for this position to be located in Australia for XX.

What You'll Do

  • Lead policy engagement processes on charging related matters in the APAC region.

  • Manage day-to-day relationships to maintain and grow high impact network within key public stakeholder offices, industry partners and trade associations.

  • Proactively identify regulatory opportunities and barriers and resolve them.

  • Provide internal impact assessments of policy changes on Tesla charging related business and recommended actions to Tesla leadership.

  • Work with other national Tesla policy, regulatory and commercial staff to ensure consistent positioning, policy preferences and actions.


What You'll Bring

  • 6+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or a related field, within the e-mobility market in APAC. Direct experience within EV charging regulation is considered a plus.

  • Proven track record of successfully influencing policy outcomes and working with government bodies and industry stakeholders.

  • Background in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience managing multiple policy issue areas and engaging a variety of stakeholders to drive advocacy priorities in regulatory proceedings.

  • The ability and desire to travel (20% as needed), as well as an ability to function autonomously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

  • Strong proficiency in English communication and strong negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of another language is advantageous.
