Role: Fundamental Equity Analyst - China (A/H) Shares Small cap equities
Location: Singapore
Our client, a leading global alternative investment manager, is seeking a Fundamental Equity Analyst to join its Asia investment team in Singapore.
This role will focus primarily on deep fundamental analysis of small-cap Chinese equities (H/A shares) and offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative global investment platform. The position is well suited to investors who enjoy bottom-up research, company analysis, and idea generation, with meaningful exposure to portfolio construction and investment decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research on small-cap Chinese companies across sectors.
- Analyze financial statements, competitive positioning, and industry dynamics to generate high-conviction investment ideas.
- Monitor portfolio companies and sector developments to identify catalysts and risks.
- Prepare investment memos and present research findings to the broader investment team.
- Travel to Hong Kong and Mainland China for company meetings, conferences, and field research.
Candidate Profile
- 47 years of total experience in equity research or investment analysis (candidates with 38 years will also be considered).
- Experience covering China equities, ideally small or mid-cap companies.
- Buy-side experience preferred (long-only or long/short), though strong sell-side analysts may also be considered.
- Fluent Mandarin required, with strong English communication skills.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical thinking, and ability to articulate clear investment theses.
