Our goal is to simplify the complex, enabling our clients to unlock efficiencies and drive meaningful business outcomes. We're a fast-moving, high-impact team that thrives on solving real-world challenges.
We are looking for a driven, strategic, and relentless sales leader to join our team. If you are a true hunter who enjoys opening doors, building deep client relationships, and driving new business growth, this is the opportunity for you.
What You'll Do
Integration Engineering & Delivery
- Design, build, and deploy FHIR R4 integrations on client engagements across public and private healthcare institutions
- Develop and configure Epic-to-national health record interfaces per applicable regulatory and platform specifications: medication orders, referral notifications, patient demographics queries, clinical summaries, and HL7 CDA document submissions
- Implement SMART on FHIR application launches and CDS Hooks within the Epic clinical environment, aligned to client workflow and governance requirements
- Build OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect authorization flows for third-party applications connecting to Epic in client-managed environments
- Own technical workstreams from design through UAT, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization
FHIR & HL7 Engineering
- Write production-quality backend code in Java, Python, or TypeScript for FHIR-enabled services, middleware components, and clinical data pipelines
- Map clinical data between HL7 v2 message structures (ADT, ORU, ORM, MDM) and FHIR R4 resources in line with applicable national data standards
- Configure and extend FHIR servers (HAPI FHIR, Azure Health Data Services) for client-specific terminology, value sets, and national health record contribution requirements
- Implement Bulk FHIR ($export) pipelines supporting population health analytics and regulatory reporting mandates
- Troubleshoot integration issues across Epic sandbox and production environments; configure and debug Bridges, Interconnect, and interface engine workflows
Stakeholder Engagement & Documentation
- Work directly with client IT leads, Epic Technical Coordinators (ETCs), and clinical informatics teams across hospital and health system engagements
- Liaise with national health platform operators and regulatory bodies on interface specifications, compliance requirements, and technical governance
- Produce client-ready technical artefacts: interface design documents, data flow diagrams, test plans, API runbooks, and go-live checklists
- Support junior team members on engagements through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
What We're Looking For
- 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years working with FHIR APIs, HL7 messaging, or EHR system integrations
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages: Java, Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or C#
- Solid working knowledge of FHIR R4 resources, RESTful API design, and JSON/XML data formats
- Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect — ideally in a SMART on FHIR or healthcare API context
- Familiarity with HL7 v2 message structures and clinical data exchange standards
- Comfortable in a client-facing, deadline-driven consulting environment with multiple concurrent workstreams
- Strong written and spoken English; confident communicating to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Epic certification in any module will be an added advantage — Bridges, Beaker, ADT, MyChart, Stork, or equivalent
- Direct experience with Epic — Bridges, Interconnect, Chronicles, or equivalent EHR integration and configuration work
- Familiarity with national health IT infrastructure, interoperability mandates, or regional health data standards relevant to the engagement market
- Experience with HAPI FHIR, Azure Health Data Services, or Google Cloud Healthcare API
- Knowledge of HL7 CDA document standards and cross-institution health record exchange
At SimplifyNext, we're committed to building a team of curious, driven, and forward-thinking individuals who care deeply about creating meaningful impact through technology. If you're excited by the opportunity to grow, collaborate, and shape the future of digital transformation across the region, we'd be happy to hear from you.
