Job Summary

As a CBRE Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for driving and overseeing the building's sustainability and environmental compliance programme, ensuring adherence to green standards and certifications, monitoring energy, water and waste performance, preparing sustainability reports, implementing resource efficiency initiatives, and engaging stakeholders to promote environmental awareness and continuous improvement in line with corporate sustainability requirements.

What You'll Do

Compliance with Green Specifications

  • Ensure procurement and use of green-labelled products as specified, including office ICT equipment, high-pressure washer jets, and leaf blowers.
  • Monitor adherence to relevant green building certifications and environmental standards.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track monthly consumption of energy and water, investigating anomalies and recommending improvements in Monthly Management Reports (MMR).
  • Monitor and analyse monthly waste generation, identifying root causes for variances and proposing reduction measures.
  • Report daily occupant and visitor counts to support sustainability monitoring.
  • Conduct annual compliance checks to verify building adherence to GreenGov.SG requirements.
  • Prepare and submit an annual environmental sustainability performance report to the Corporation, covering electricity, water, waste, operational carbon emissions, and progress on sustainability initiatives.

Sustainability Programmes and Initiatives

  • Oversee the renewal and maintenance of certifications such as Green Mark, SS ISO 46001, and Water Efficient Building (WEB).
  • Ensure tracking of water usage during façade cleaning and other major water use activities.
  • Manage and coordinate waste and energy audit exercises, and review building provisions to identify and implement efficiency improvements (e.g., adjusting ventilation fan hours, reconfiguring lighting for energy savings).
  • Implement sustainability commitments outlined in the tender proposal and other approved initiatives.
  • Driving any other sustainability initiatives or milestones.

Stakeholder Engagement and Education

  • Prepare and submit resource management plans and environmental scorecards as required by corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Plan and conduct educational and outreach activities to raise sustainability awareness among occupants and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support ongoing sustainability efforts and compliance.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum Diploma in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), Building Services, Facility Management, or any related technical or property management discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the built environment sector and well-versed in Singapore's environmental sustainability requirements, including applicable regulations, green building standards, and national sustainability frameworks.
  • Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP) certified
  • Preferably with Tier 3 Certified Facilities Management Expert (CFME) accreditation by SIFMA
  • Ability to communicate clearly with different stakeholders and present information effectively.
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships across teams and external parties.
  • Ensuring accuracy in monitoring, reporting, and compliance-related activities.
  • Managing multiple initiatives, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously.
