Ensure effective implementation of the Environmental Monitoring and Management Plan (EMMP) across all phases of the project.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with environmental requirements related to air quality, water management, noise control, and waste disposal.
Identify, report, and recommend corrective actions for any non-compliance or potential environmental breaches.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date environmental documentation, including inspection records and statutory reports.
Liaise with regulatory bodies such as NEA, PUB, NParks, and others to ensure full compliance with environmental legislation and permit conditions.
Conduct site briefings and toolbox talks to promote environmental awareness among workers and subcontractors.
Review and provide input on environmental method statements, risk assessments, and pollution control measures.
Supervise the implementation and maintenance of pollution control systems (e.g., silt fences, wheel wash bays, oil interceptors).
Respond to environmental emergencies (e.g., spills or complaints) and ensure proper containment, mitigation, and reporting actions are taken.
Participate in audits and support continual improvement of environmental management practices on site.
Job Requirements:
Certified Environmental Control Officer (ECO) by NEA or equivalent certification.
Certified ECMO Registered with IES
Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
Sound knowledge of local environmental regulations, codes of practice, and EMMP requirements.
Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to liaise with authorities and project stakeholders.
Ability to conduct site inspections independently and resolve environmental issues proactively.
Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools and reporting systems is an advantage
