About the Role
We are seeking an experienced FPSO HSE Lead to support a major offshore FPSO development project. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) strategy and ensuring compliance with project, regulatory and industry requirements throughout the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and start-up phases.
This role requires a strong HSE professional with proven FPSO project experience and the ability to influence a positive safety culture across a large international project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive HSE initiatives across all phases of the FPSO project lifecycle.
- Develop, implement and monitor project HSE management plans, procedures and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, company requirements and local regulations.
- Provide HSE leadership to EPC contractors, suppliers and project teams.
- Monitor HSE performance and develop corrective action plans where required.
- Conduct HSE audits, inspections and management reviews.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are effectively implemented.
- Facilitate risk assessments, HAZID, HAZOP and safety workshops.
- Review contractor HSE deliverables and performance metrics.
- Prepare and present HSE reports, statistics and key performance indicators to senior management.
- Promote behavioural safety initiatives and foster a strong safety culture throughout the project.
Requirements
Mandatory
- Degree Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of HSE experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Demonstrated FPSO project experience.
- Previous Operator-side project experience highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of offshore construction, commissioning and operations safety requirements.
- Experience managing HSE activities within major EPC/EPCIC projects.
- Knowledge of international HSE standards and offshore industry best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to provide 2-3 professional references.
- Basic Fire Fighting Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to mobilisation).
Preferred
- Greenfield FPSO project experience.
- Previous experience supporting projects in Asia, Europe, Africa.
- NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 5/6, TechIOSH, GradIOSH, CMIOSH or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience leading multicultural project teams.
- Experience supporting offshore commissioning and start-up activities.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Extensive FPSO project delivery experience.
- Strong operator interface experience.
- Proven track record leading HSE performance on large offshore developments.
- Hands-on experience with risk management and incident investigation processes.
- Comfortable working in multicultural and international environments.
