Role Purpose
The Enterprise Applications Lead is responsible for the end‑to‑end ownership, stability, and evolution of enterprise applications across the Group. This role ensures that applications, whether off‑the‑shelf or internally developed, are secure, scalable, user‑centric, and aligned with Sembcorp's business and digital strategy.
The Enterprise Applications Lead will lead the application teams and work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective solutions, while continuously driving improvements through innovative and emerging technologies such as AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Ownership and Delivery
- Manage a portfolio covering Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system and custom-developed applications.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for application availability, incidents, enhancements, and projects.
- Ensure applications meet business requirements, performance, security, and compliance standards.
- Partner with business users to understand needs and prioritise demand.
- Ensure seamless integration across systems and consistency of data flows.
- Technology Solutioning and Leadership
- Lead solution assessments, considering cost, scalability, time-to-market, and long-term sustainability.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate workflows, and improve user experience through digital solutions.
- Advocate the use of AI and collaborate with business to embed AI capabilities into solutions.
- Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with software vendors and system integrators.
- Oversee vendor performance, licensing, renewals, SLAs, and cost optimisation.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure applications comply with Group standards, cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning for owned applications.
- Maintain proper documentation, controls, and change management processes.
- People Leadership
- Lead and develop an applications team with diverse tech skills to build a high-performing culture.
- Coordinate cross-team collaboration to deliver integrated desired outcomes.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- At least 15 years of experience in application management, enterprise systems, or digital delivery.
- Proven experience in managing enterprise application systems and leading in-house development team.
- Technical experience with commercial off-the-shelf solutions and custom-developed applications.
- Experience working in a large, complex, or multi-country organisation preferred Skills & Competencies.
- Strong application lifecycle and delivery management skills
- Solid understanding of best practices and industry standards for solution architecture, system integration, UI/UX, mobile app development, DevOps and application security.
- Technical familiarity with development platforms and tools such as .NET, Python, Azure App Service, Azure Logic Apps, Azure DevOps, GitHub etc.
- Ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
- Proficiency in use of AI in solutioning and software development processes Personal Attributes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Solid experience in operating between business and technology teams.
