Job PurposeProvide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse, ensuring safe, quality, patient-centred care and positive clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
. Assist in admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
. Perform basic nursing care independently within scope of practice.
. Monitor and record patients vital signs, intake/output and nursing observations.
. Report changes in patients conditions promptly to the Nurse-in-Charge.
. Assist doctors and Registered Nurses during ward rounds, examinations and procedures.
. Assist in medication administration (excluding intravenous injections).
. Provide patient and caregiver education on self-care and health management.
. Monitor patients for signs of deterioration and escalate concerns appropriately.
. Perform clinical procedures such as ECG, blood glucose monitoring and simple wound dressing.
. Participate in nursing assessments, infection control and quality improvement activities.
. Support emergency response, incident reporting and follow-up actions.
. Monitor ward supplies and ensure proper use of resources and equipment.
. Guide junior staff, trainees and Healthcare Assistants where required.
. Maintain a safe, clean and therapeutic environment for patients.
. Perform other duties assigned by Nursing Management.
Job Requirements
. NITEC in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing from a recognised institution.
. Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
. Registered Enrolled Nurse with a valid Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) Practising Certificate.
. Knowledge of basic nursing care, patient assessment and documentation.
. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
. Ability to respond calmly and appropriately during emergencies.
. Commitment to patient safety, quality care and infection control standards.
