Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, individualized nursing care in alignment with patients needs and conditions. Maintain high standards in documentation, treatment, patient monitoring, and infection control. Allocate equipment to ensure sufficient resources for care requirements. Build rapport with patients and their families communicate effectively regarding care plans. Provide direct patient care and evaluate conditions under the supervision of experienced nurses. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to facilitate seamless patient service delivery. Adhere to organisational and legal regulations concerning drug and medical supply management. Document patients conditions accurately and maintain comprehensive records of referrals and attendances. Administer medications (oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous) and perform dressing changes under supervision, excluding IV injections and controlled substances. Verify all phone orders for medications with supervising staff. Ensure continuity of care and treatment plans. Assist with palliative nursing care as required, under supervision. Monitor proper use of medical equipment and consumables. Uphold confidentiality and maintain a secure patient care environment. Train and support Patient Care Assistants in relevant care practices. Comply with professional standards set by regulatory bodies and stay updated with industry guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the workplace. Initiate and implement continuous improvement initiatives in the care environment. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possession of at least a NITEC in Nursing or equivalent, and registration with the relevant nursing board. Preferred post-registration experience in a hospital or hospice setting. Familiarity with IT systems and their application in healthcare. Strong commitment to providing exceptional service and support. Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
