Your Job

As a Senior Engineer in Quality (SQA) at Molex, you will play a pivotal role in driving quality excellence across subcontractor manufacturing operations. You will lead the development and execution of strategic quality plans, apply your technical expertise to resolve complex quality issues, and ensure compliance with quality management systems. This role demands a proactive approach to continuous improvement, working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to meet customer expectations and uphold Molexu2019s commitment to superior product quality and operational efficiency.

Our Team

You will be part of the DSS division in Singapore, reporting to the Principal Engineer, Quality. Our team collaborates closely with various internal departments, external subcontractors, and customers to maintain high-quality standards and drive operational excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Closely monitor the performance of key quality indicators and initiate, deploy and implement (IDI) plans or measures to meet the goals set.
  • Lead in the implementation of the SQA system in MXS. To be the Focus personalizing for the plant strategy, guidelines and on-going running of the SQA system.
  • To conduct Internal and External audit to ensure conformance to specified Requirements.
  • Lead the team to review and analyze daily process issues and drive the assembly/component departments toward process, COPQ, and yield improvements. Engage AQP early in the product development phase to gain a better understanding of new products.
  • Provide disposition for in-process or Outgoing quality check rejects, incoming component rejects, and non-conforming customer returned parts.xa0 (Note that the incumbent has the authority to block suspected non-conforming stocks and stop shipment to prevent defective parts from getting delivered to the customer)
  • Analyze process weakness and/or quality performance data and work with internal departments on quality improvement plans.
  • Create, review and/or update inspection SOP, inspection checklist, control plan or special inspection instructions (SII) when needed.
  • Ensure all documents (SOP, SII, WI, Control Plan, and Inspection Checklist) are updated regularly.
  • Review and update quality management system procedures to meet the quality system requirements.
  • Participate in investigation of customer complaints (including internal customers) for root causes, facilitate containment and corrective actions reply plus verify the effectiveness of the CA after implementation, through appropriate quality tools. Apply and introduce the use of SPC tools where necessary for process control.xa0
  • Liaise with upstream and downstream processes engineers / suppliers on quality issues.
  • Plan and conduct periodic process line audits and participate in in-house and customer audits / suppliers to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure that the department is readily prepared for customer audits, internal audits and/or external quality audits.
  • When needed, conduct regular MSA (GR&R) on equipment and users for assessing measurement system.
  • Implement error or mistake-proofing initiatives & to design process qualification plan, e.g. process tool qual, initiate test plan or validation, 4M1H, rework or sorting methods.
  • Expect to travel to customer site/s, / supplier/s when necessary, on short notice, when there is urgent customer claim, that requires on-site support.
  • Understand and use PBM guiding principles to guide behavior and decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or related discipline (Degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering or related roles.
  • Proficient in QC core tools, SPC, 8D reporting, control plans, PFMEA, APQP.
  • Knowledgeable in quality standards such as ISO 9001, TS16949, PPAP.
  • Skilled in MS Office, basic GD&T or technical drawing interpretation, and QMS auditing.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and statistical skills.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with statistical software such as Minitab and SAP.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical tools and process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive or electronics manufacturing environments.
