The Engineer, Production Process Support is responsible for providing both on-site and off-site technical support to the production of AB SCIEX range of products (Mass Spectrometer, Capillary electrophoresis and High-Performance Bio analytical Measurement system.

This position reports to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineer and is part of the Manufacturing engineeringdepartment located in Marsiling, Singapore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Improve the First Pass Yield in Manufacturing by performing failure analysis and providing engineering solutions to address the root causes.
  • Support improvement in field quality, by taking input from GSS and the FSE on installation and warranty failures. Introduce corrective actions in Manufacturing to address those field issues.
  • Lead cost and yield improvement projects. Provide value engineering in re-engineering of the process or material to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Product transfer support & ensure transferring of knowledge from other facilities on design, functional specifications, manufacturing line set up, processes, tooling, fixtures & other related areas.
  • Ensure compliance of operations within area of concern with all relevant EHS regulatory requirements, and SCIEX safety policies, procedures and guidelines

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Good mechanical background knowledge with minimum 1 year of working experience in manufacturing/lean environment.
  • Some hands-on experience of assembly of precision parts with high precision mechanical alignment tolerance stack up, measurement of micron parts, GD&T/MSA will be added advantage
  • Experience with Optical alignment techniques and testing equipment will be added advantage
  • Effectively work with people & coordinate activities with external vendors, suppliers and contractors.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 5kg

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with 3D CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD), Design for Manufacturing / Assembly / Test (DFx) concepts & tolerance fit analysis.
  • Operation and Application on Capillary Electrophoresis /mass spectrometer instruments
