As a Metro Real-time Defect Analysis (RDA) Process & Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, deploying, and sustaining RDA capabilities that enable robust process control and equipment performance across advanced packaging and New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing environments.
You will focus on integrating process knowledge, equipment behavior, and automation intelligence to improve tool stability, detect early signals of risk, and accelerate learning during NPI, pilot, and ramp phases. This role serves as a critical link between Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, NPI teams, and RDA, ensuring monitoring strategies are technically sound, actionable, and scalable to high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
You will work closely with Site and Global RDA, Process, Equipment, Automation, and IT teams to drive continuous improvement in equipment capability, process robustness, and manufacturing readiness.
Job Responsibilities:

Identify, Select, and Deliver RDA Solutions to Support Process and Equipment Performance
Develop and sustain RDA monitoring strategies aligned to advanced packaging process requirements and equipment behavior
Translate process and equipment knowledge into effective Statistical Process Control (SPC), Fault Detection & Classification (FDC), and RDA rules, alarms, and diagnostics
Identify equipment-related process sensitivities, interactions, and failure modes, particularly during NPI and early ramp
Drive improvements in tool stability, repeatability, and process window control through data-driven insights
Support deployment and tuning of new RDA capabilities, scripts, dashboards, and automation logic for new tools and package types
Ensure monitoring strategies evolve appropriately as NPI transitions to HVM
Support Process and Equipment Readiness for NPI, Pilot, and Ramp Activities
Partner with Process and Equipment Engineers to support tool bring-up, qualification, and stabilization using RDA insights
Ensure critical process and equipment parameters are monitored effectively during NPI and pilot phases
Provide technical input to NPI readiness reviews, risk assessments, and ramp decision checkpoints
Support rapid root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment- or process-driven Excursions
Validate monitoring coverage and effectiveness for new equipment platforms and process flows
Drive, Improve and Maintain Equipment and Process Performance Metrics
Analyze equipment and process performance metrics such as availability, stability, excursion rate, and recovery effectiveness
Use RDA and manufacturing data to identify chronic issues, systemic gaps, and improvement opportunities
Support MTTR reduction, tool performance optimization, and process capability improvement initiatives
Provide data-driven recommendations to improve equipment reliability and process robustness
Ensure accurate documentation and traceability of issues, actions, and improvements
Collaborating on Continuous Improvement and Standardization
Work closely with Site and Global RDA teams to standardize monitoring approaches across tools, processes, and sites
Collaborate with Equipment, Process, and NPI teams on continuous improvement projects and technology transitions
Provide technical guidance on RDA best practices from a process and equipment perspective
Participate in lessons learned, best practice sharing, and knowledge transfer activities
Support audits, technical reviews, and assessments with objective data and analysis
Job Requirements/ Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Materials, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or related discipline)
0-2 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging, process engineering, equipment engineering, or RDA/automation roles
Experience supporting NPI, pilot lines, or early production ramps preferred
Understanding of semiconductor equipment systems, process control concepts, and manufacturing variability
Hands-on experience with SPC/FDC, RDA platforms, or manufacturing data systems preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect process, equipment, and data insights
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence technical decisions
Strong documentation and communication skills
Strong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skills
Effective communicator, able to collaborate across all levels
Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning
Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
Demonstrated leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable
Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred
Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and roleappropriate AI literacy to use AIenabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problemsolving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.
