Who We Are
Singapore Pools was established by the Singapore government on 23 May 1968 to provide safe and trusted betting to counter illegal gambling. As a not-for-profit organisation, it makes contributions to the Tote Board to fund a wide range of causes in social service, community development, sports, arts, education and health sectors.
Since 2004, over $5 billion have been channelled to the Tote Board. In addition, Singapore Pools also contributes about $2 billion annually to the Government in the form of taxes and duties. Its responsible gaming practices have been awarded the highest level of certification (Level 4) by the World Lottery Association's Responsible Gaming Framework since 2012.
Since inception, Singapore Pools staff have a long-standing commitment to doing good and giving back to those in need. Staff volunteers support activities held all year round, from helping disadvantaged children, youth-at-risk, underprivileged families, and elderly, to conserving the environment.
Job Purpose
The role is engaged in planning, analysis, detailed design, developing code, unit testing, implementation of development and/or enhancements and provide ongoing application support.
What You'll Do
- Work with the business to gather and define requirements and translate them into design specifications.
- Develop new code or reuse existing codes to implement enhancements or new business solutions and maintain documentation of solutions.
- Responsible for creating, executing and documenting the tests necessary to ensure that application and technical environment meet functional and performance requirements.
- Facilitate automated testing throughout the test lifecycle and reuse of test scripts.
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), as needed.
- Responsible for obtaining approval from Change Approval Board (CAB).
- Assist with troubleshooting, analysis and resolution of production issues.
- Analyze and research new and existing applications, products, procedures, and/or workflow needs associated with business systems.
- Work with internal team and/or external vendors to collate necessary information for the regulatory enquiries/requests.
- Assist in preparing documentation and evidence collection for internal and external audits.
Who You Are
- Degree-qualified in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science or IT related discipline, with at least 5 years of experience in software development and experience in automated testing.
- Ability to collaborate, communicate, and triage technical issues across teams.
- Ability to work in environments with competing and alternating priorities.
- Good understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies.
- Ability to be attentive to details and demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies, standards and automated testing tools.
- Experience in JIRA, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Unix/Linux, Java and/or C/C++.
