Job Description

About our group:

RMO Sputter Equipment Engineering team - Be responsible to engineer solutions in the field of mechanical, electrical/electronics, PLC, software & controls, and advanced analytic system, and provide technical & engineering support to enhance ultra-high vacuum (UHV) sputter machines with upgrades to improve OEE, unscheduled/scheduled downtime, operations, process capabilities, indirect material (IDM)/hardware/consumables cost reduction, productivity, new product conversion requirements & readiness, media performance and defects reduction.

About the role - you will:

  • Execute sputter equipment upgrades supporting new products and next‑generation technologies.
  • Own assigned modules/subsystems, ensuring hardware readiness, qualification, and compliance.
  • Prepare equipment configuration to carry out product conversion.
  • Collaborate with development teams and suppliers to resolve design and ramp issues.
  • Work closely with product launch teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring smooth integration of new processes into production.
  • Monitor and improve equipment performance (OEE), addressing stability, yield, and productivity gaps.
  • Perform structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis on equipment issues, driving timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work cross‑functionally (R&D, Process, Launch, Maintenance) to resolve issues and minimize impact.
  • Document solutions and best practices for knowledge transfer and sustaining operations.

Your experience includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with sputter equipment and vacuum technology.
  • Experience in equipment upgrades, hardware evaluation, and qualification.
  • Exposure to manufacturing ramp and high‑volume production environments.
  • Experience managing or supporting equipment upgrade or installation projects.

Location:

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
