Job Summary
We are seeking a technically strong and business-oriented IT professional to support and enhance our ERP and Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) systems within a dynamic commodities trading environment. This role offers direct exposure to trading, risk management, and finance functions in a global energy trading house.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of ERP system functionalities to align with evolving business requirements and drive operational efficiency
- Support, maintain, and improve data platforms by ensuring data integrity, optimizing system performance, and enhancing reliability
- Operate and enhance the ETRM system through configuration, functional improvements, testing, and deployment to meet business needs
- Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to implement system upgrades and improvements that advance business objectives
- Develop and maintain internally created ETRM extension modules to provide new features and capabilities supporting trading and risk management teams
- Troubleshoot and debug system issues promptly to minimize business disruption and maintain continuous operations
- Assess and enhance IT systems to support new business initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Execute additional IT-related duties as assigned by the Head of IT, demonstrating adaptability and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience
- Hands-on experience in maintaining and supporting ETRM systems
- Prior exposure to oil & gas, energy, or commodities trading environments to enhance understanding of business processes
- Proficiency in C#, Python, and SQL for software development and data management tasks
- Strong knowledge of web-based application development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with experience troubleshooting and debugging complex systems
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
