Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the Centre of Excellence in Employee Relations. The intern will assist in managing various aspects of employee relations, including staff grievances, disciplinary matters, whistleblowing cases and union-related issues. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in human resources and employee relations within a professional setting.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating, monitoring and documenting staff grievances and disciplinary cases
  • Support the handling of whistleblowing cases, ensuring confidentiality and proper procedures are followed
  • Help to publicize the available staff channels under NUHS
  • Assist in organizing and delivering training sessions on staff discipline policies
  • Support the team in handling union matters and maintaining positive labor relations
  • Help prepare reports and presentations related to employee relations and cases
  • Assist in researching and staying updated on relevant employment laws and regulations
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of employee relations processes and procedures
  • Perform administrative tasks related to employee relations activities

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field
  • Strong interest in employee relations and human resources management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Familiarity with labor laws and regulations
  • Previous internship or work experience in HR or employee relations
