Job role: Employee Benefits Insurance Broker (Senior Manager/Director)

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor, providing guidance and support to achieve high performance.
  • Set clear performance goals for the team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and client focus within the team.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their evolving needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to retain clients and build long-term partnerships.
  • Act as escalation point for all clients.

Needs Assessment and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to understand client's specific needs and objectives.
  • Analyze the existing employee benefits programs and identify areas for improvement during renewal.
  • Assist clients in managing and controlling their benefits costs.
  • Develop and recommend cost-containment strategies.

Market Research and Strategy:

  • Research the insurance market to identify the best available plans and carriers.
  • Design customized employee benefits plan that aligns with client's goals and budget.
  • Present multiple options and explaining the benefits and drawbacks of each.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling.

Negotiation:

  • Negotiate with insurance carriers to secure the best rates and terms for the client.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and relationships to obtain favorable terms for clients.

Employee Communication and Education:

  • Conduct in-person or online sessions to brief employees on their benefits.
  • Provide on-going support to answer employee/HR questions and resolve issues.

Claims Management:

  • Assist with claim escalations from HR or employees.
  • Act as a liaison between employee and insurance carriers to resolve claims issues, if applicable.

Renewals:

  • Review performance of the insurance plans to ensure they continue to meet client's needs.
  • Recommend changes to the plans based on feedback from client and/or industry trends.
  • Conduct remarketing exercise to compare the terms against existing insurance carrier.
  • Provide claim analysis report to inform clients the claim trends of employees.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:

  • Experienced in International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI)
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Good team spirit
  • Resilient and able to meet deadlines
  • Able to build relationships across all levels
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
  • A recognized degree in any discipline and/or professional insurance qualifications
  • Good working knowledge of employee benefits products
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written English (Effective bilingual in Mandarin will be bonus)
