Location: Sydney, Australia (Full Visa Sponsorship & Comprehensive Relocation Package Provided)
Work Arrangement: On-site 5 days/week (with hybrid flexibility up to 2 days remote once established)
Our client are pioneering the future of energy by building the world's first wireless energy delivery platform powered by light. Creating mission-critical control software for a first-of-its-kind energy networking infrastructure.
Their current engineering team is small, elite, and technically intense from designing and deploying a foundational embedded software architecture from the ground up-completely unconstrained by legacy code or decades-old decisions.
If you want to solve complex, real-world physics problems at the intersection of optics, hardware, and deep tech, this is your launchpad.
We know moving countries is a massive milestone. We ensure a seamless transition from Singapore to Sydney by offering:
Full Visa Sponsorship: Turnkey management of your Australian working visa.
Comprehensive Relocation Support: Covered flights, initial temporary housing, and relocation logistics-including pet relocation support.
Extensive Leave & Wellness: 8 weeks paid parental leave, unlimited paid personal/medical leave, and a $1,000 AUD annual wellness/growth stipend.
World-Class Facilities: Work in a fully equipped, state-of-the-art laser and hardware facility in one of the world's most liveable coastal cities.
This is a high-ownership, end-to-end embedded systems role.
You will own the firmware and software stack, scaling from low-level microcontroller control systems up to high-level state management and telemetry. As we actively re-architect our core systems to be modular and scalable, you will directly shape our foundational architecture.
Hard Real-Time Deployment: Develop, validate, and deploy complex hard real-time embedded software on real physical hardware (laser alignment, safety-critical systems, and power conversion).
Architecture Design: Architect core middleware for communication, state-machine control, and telemetry with robust error handling across the entire stack.
Low-Level Driver Development: Write highly optimized, bare-metal or RTOS drivers for microcontroller peripherals and communication interfaces.
Modern Workflows: Build and maintain automated test systems and CI/CD pipelines to support rapid firmware iteration on physical hardware.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with systems, hardware, optical, and mechanical engineering teams to bridge software with physical reality.
We are looking for a sharp, hands-on engineer who thrives in an R&D environment. You should have:
Production-Level C/C++: Proven experience in real-time embedded systems with a strict microcontroller focus (not desktop or pure application layer code).
Modern Standards: Comfortable with modern C++ standards-we do not use legacy or outdated embedded patterns.
Communication Protocols: Deep, working knowledge of CAN bus, SPI, I2C, and UART.
Modern DevOps for Hardware: Experience setting up or working with CI/CD pipelines, automated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and modern developer workflows.
Domain Exposure (Plus): A background in Robotics, Aerospace, Autonomous Vehicles, or Medical Devices is a massive advantage.
Relocation Readiness: Ability to relocate to Sydney, Australia, and a desire to work closely with physical hardware on-site.
Genuinely Novel Technology: You will work on a category-defining deep tech product. This isn't another SaaS tool or traditional firmware adjustment it's wireless energy.
True Equity & Upside: With a 0.1% equity stake, you have genuine financial upside as the company scales from seed stage.
No Legacy Constraints: You aren't inheriting a frozen, fragile codebase. You are the architect.
