Summary
Responsible for assisting the EM Trading/GMD trading Team as they look into the management of trading risks as well as client's requirements with a view to ensure that all regulatory requirements are observed and adhered to.
Responsible for providing any assistance on the back of management reports or trading reports based on trading products including IRD and FXswap and any other required reports to ensure that trading is within authorized trading limits, i.e. the risk parameters and designated currency and product limits. Also responsible for providing pricing on the derivatives market for a varied customer base via the Sales Desk.
Assistance to EM Trading/GMD traders who are responsible predominantly for the following currencies: Authorized within CA-CIB Branch and typically local currencies and Majors.
Applicants to any trainee positions should have less than 2 years of full-time working experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Basic GMD Knowledge and functions
- Ensure that product knowledge is up to speed and skills set equipped to provide effective assistance to the team.
- When necessary, execute transactions accurately and in accordance with established risk management procedures and risk parameters.
- Assist in providing the necessary daily pricing capacity in EM Trading/GMD Products on a global basis
- Be aware of all economic and financial data likely to affect the market and keep updated on market changes.
- Provide product pricing for both new products as well as specific client transactions. Pricing must ensure that the Bank is adequately compensated for the level of principal risk and the amount of balance sheet it dedicates to specific transactions.
- Input all executed trades directly into the Front Office System. Ensure all deals are timely validated in Front Office System.
2. Daily Trading & Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist to price and execute all client transactions in the market sector for which responsible.
- Timely record and enter all transactions into front office trading systems in line with applicable trading procedures in effect.
- Provide best efforts in a timely fashion to resolve all trade breaks as reported by Back Office.
3. Communication
- Ensure good regular feedback and communication with the team to keep informed of any important administrative matters.
- Maintain contact with the Sales desks regarding shared business.
- At any time, communicate to the management and concerned functions in case of problems.
- Work closely with back office and middle office to ensure accurate and efficient processing of trades.
4. Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the Singapore, London and Hong Kong] Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time; Financial Security requirements, including, but not limited to, the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud including reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
- Comply with GMD requirements with regards to dealing room conduct.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.
Role Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with a specialization in a Mathematical or Scientific area would be preferable.
- Experience in trading and risk managing a trading book, and basic level understanding of pricing in IRS and FXswap.
- Strong initiative, team-orientated and excellent communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the overall global market.
- Capacity to develop and learn financial derivatives including market liquidity (ability to enter or exit a position) and volatility (magnitude / speed of price change), pricing and trading/hedging strategies.
- Strong numeracy, analysis and spreadsheet skills.
