The Client
The client is a global semiconductor focussed organisation and a prominent developer of sophisticated hardware solutions used in critical infrastructure and high-tech manufacturing. They focus on the physical realization of complex electrical architectures, specializing in the assembly and validation of heavy-duty, energy-intensive prototypes
Job Scope
This role focuses on providing technical support for the development and refinement of advanced electro-mechanical prototypes. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of experimental hardware, from initial assembly to complex fault analysis.
Core Responsibilities
- Construct and evaluate electrical systems, including the mechanical integration of chassis and housings. You must be comfortable managing high-energy environments exceeding 100V.
- Use schematics and layouts to independently diagnose and repair circuit issues. This includes tracing signals to identify failing components like PCBA parts, FETs, and inductors.
- Execute high-quality soldering for both fine-pitch surface mount and larger through-hole components.
- Utilize advanced R&D lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and LCR meters to measure frequency response, impedance, and general circuit health.
- Maintain accurate records of test data, draft build procedures, and assist engineering teams with Bill of Materials (BOM) management and ECOs.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or any related discipline.
- A firm grasp of LRC circuit functions and standard electrical assembly methodologies.
- Strong aptitude for resolving electro-mechanical discrepancies under direct supervision.
- Effective verbal skills for interpreting technical instructions and reporting analytical findings.
