Lead and oversee the electrical system design for offshore oil and gas platforms, ensuring compliance with international and regional standards (API, ASME, Shell, QP).
Develop and validate design principles, methodologies, and technical strategies for all electrical systems.
Ensure electrical system integrity, safety, and functionality through all project phases.
Review, optimize, and approve electrical drawings, calculations, and deliverables.
Apply in-depth knowledge of marine electrical engineering, technical codes, and offshore platform specifications.
Ensure design outputs align with both internal engineering procedures and client-specific standards.
Participate in design reviews and client meetings, presenting electrical system proposals and solutions.
Conduct or guide system modeling, short-circuit analysis, illumination simulations, and clash detection.
Lead system modeling, electrical analyses, and simulation activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering and Automation, Power System and Automation, or a closely related field
Registered Mechanical Engineer certification or equivalent preferred
Minimum 15 years of professional experience in mechanical design for offshore oil and gas platforms
At least 3 years in a core design or management role on offshore platform projects within Qatar or the broader Middle East region.
Thorough knowledge of design characteristics and technical requirements specific to offshore oil and gas platforms in Qatar is a MUST
Familiar with Qatar's project approval and design review protocols
Equipment procurement experience is preferred
Prior work experience on Qatar-based projects is an advantage
Knowledge of Shell and Qatar Petroleum (QP) standards is a preferred
Excellent command of English
Proficient in ETAP, NAVISWORKS, DIALux, and AutoCAD Electrical
