Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Customer Solutioning

  • Serve as the technical expert during customer engagements for Smart Metering and AMI projects.
  • Conduct site surveys, technical assessments, and identify customer requirements.
  • Design end-to-end smart metering solutions, including:Smart electricity metersAMI Head-End Systems (HES)Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS)IoT sensorsCommunication networks (RF Mesh, PLC, Cellular, NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, etc.)
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and Proof of Concept (PoC) sessions.
  • Provide technical consultation throughout the pre-sales process.

Proposal & Tender Management

  • Prepare technical proposals, solution architectures, Bills of Materials (BOM), compliance documentation, and effort estimations.
  • Support RFP, RFI, and tender submissions.
  • Work closely with commercial and engineering teams to develop competitive and compliant proposals.
  • Prepare system design documentation, network planning, and cybersecurity considerations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Project Delivery teams to ensure solution feasibility.
  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to support product improvements.
  • Ensure smooth transition from pre-sales to project implementation through detailed handover documentation.

Market & Industry Awareness

  • Stay updated with Smart Metering, AMI, IoT, and Smart Grid technologies.
  • Keep abreast of relevant industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies.
  • Represent the company at industry exhibitions, conferences, and technical forums when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Smart Metering, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Energy Management, Utilities, or related electrical engineering industries.
  • Strong knowledge of smart metering technologies, including electricity meters, AMI architecture, Head-End Systems (HES), Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), and communication protocols such as DLMS/COSEM, OBIS, and MBUS.
  • Experience with communication technologies including RF Mesh, PLC, NB-IoT, LTE-M, 4G/5G, LoRaWAN, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and BLE.
  • Familiarity with integrating AMI solutions with Billing, OMS, GIS, and other enterprise platforms, as well as cybersecurity standards for smart grid applications.
  • Proven experience supporting technical proposals, RFPs, RFIs, and tender submissions in a B2B environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical solutions into customer-focused business value.
  • Knowledge of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) distribution systems, as well as experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, or Smart Metering vendors such as Schneider Electric, Socomec, Itron, Honeywell Elster, Kaifa, or Iskraemeco will be an added advantage.
