Title: EX Inspector for FPSO

Role Overview
The EX Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections, testing, and verification of explosion-protected (Ex) equipment and installations onboard an FPSO. The role ensures compliance with IECEx / ATEX standards, local regulations, and company HSE requirements, maintaining integrity and safety in hazardous areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections and audits of Ex-rated electrical equipment and installations on FPSO topsides, process modules, and utility areas.
- Verify compliance with IEC 60079 standards, IECEx CoP, ATEX directives, and company engineering specifications.
- Conduct visual, close, and detailed inspections (per IEC 60079-17) of electrical apparatus in hazardous areas.
- Ensure all installation, maintenance, and modifications meet hazardous area classification drawings and safety standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, punch lists, and non-conformance records.
- Liaise with commissioning, construction, and maintenance teams to close out findings.
- Support electrical supervisors in troubleshooting and rectification of Ex-rated equipment issues.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety walks, and contribute to HSE culture onboard.
- Ensure proper tagging, certification, and documentation of Ex equipment in line with Singapore MOM (Ministry of Manpower) and international codes.
Requirements
- Singaporean or Singapore PR only
- Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade qualifications.
- Minimum 5 years experience in hazardous area inspections within Oil & Gas (FPSO, Offshore Platforms, LNG).
- Certified CompEx / IECEx CoP Ex01Ex04 (Gas & Vapours, Dust, Inspection & Maintenance) mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of IEC 60079 standards, hazardous area classifications, and Ex protection concepts (d, e, i, n, p, etc.).
- Familiar with Singapore regulatory requirements (MOM, Workplace Safety & Health regulations).
- Offshore survival (BOSIET / FOET with CA-EBS) and OGUK / offshore medical certification.
