What An Electrical/Hardware (Performance) Engineer Does At HP
This is Fixed Term Contract role with benefits (Initially 2 years with the possibility of extension based on project requirement).
Leads multiple project teams of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of electrical hardware design and development for complex products, solutions, and platforms.
Conducts part qualification processes through implementation of product quality plans, equipment inspections, factory witness testing, and manufacturing process qualifications.
Expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and development.
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
Identify trends and opportunities for optimizing product product/solution output, quality enhancements and cost of delivery.
Provides domain-specific expertise and overall electrical/electronic hardware and platform leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
Develops cost estimates, business cases, appropriation requests and plans for electrical/hardware engineering projects.
Leads delivery professionally written reports, and supports realization of operational and strategic plans.
Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the electrical hardware design organization.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of electrical hardware design and development, innovation, and excellence.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
Typically has 5-10 years of work experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field.
