Job Description:
Results-driven Electrical Engineer with experience in design, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems. Skilled in handling medium-voltage equipment including 22kV switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and high-voltage testing equipment. Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical faults, ensure system reliability, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment
- Perform commissioning and troubleshooting of 22kV switchgear and power transformers
- Configure, test, and maintain protection relays and protection schemes
- Conduct HIPOT (high-potential) testing and insulation resistance testing
- Interpret and develop single-line diagrams (SLD), schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations
- Coordinate with contractors, technicians, and project teams
- Support preventive maintenance and respond to electrical faults or breakdowns
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of medium-voltage (22kV) power distribution systems
- Expertise in transformers, switchgear, and protection systems
- Familiarity with electrical testing and commissioning procedures
- Ability to analyze faults and implement corrective actions
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and electrical schematics
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Certifications (if applicable):
- Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) or equivalent
- Safety certifications for high-voltage operations
Experience:
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, testing, and commissioning preferred
- Experience in industrial, utility, or substation environments is an advantage
