Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Construction / HVAC & Ducting Systems)
Job Summary
We are looking for a competent and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to support electrical design, coordination, and implementation for HVAC and ducting-related systems within construction projects. The role involves ensuring proper electrical integration for mechanical systems, including power supply, controls, and automation, in compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for HVAC and ducting installations, including power distribution, control panels, and wiring layouts.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate closely with mechanical (HVAC), MEP, and construction teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Ensure proper power supply and control systems for air handling units (AHUs), fans, FCUs, and ventilation systems.
- Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals from subcontractors.
- Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality, safety, and compliance with approved designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues related to HVAC systems during installation and commissioning.
- Support testing and commissioning activities, including control systems and automation (BMS integration).
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings and reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3-7 years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction or MEP industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems for HVAC equipment and building services.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD knowledge of Revit/BIM tools is an advantage.
- Familiarity with motor control systems, control panels, and building management systems (BMS).
- Understanding of site coordination and MEP integration processes.
- Knowledge of local electrical and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient and smart building systems.
- Professional certification or licensing is an advantage (e.g., PE).
