Electrical Engineer (Commercial)

About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of commercial building projects. This role focuses on site coordination, quality control, subcontractor management and ensuring smooth project execution while maintaining compliance with project specifications, safety requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in site coordination activities and provide practical solutions to resolve technical and construction-related issues.

• Support QA/QC activities, testing and commissioning processes, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, compliance requirements and industry standards.

• Apply sound engineering knowledge and relevant building services codes to support project delivery.

• Monitor and inspect the quality of materials, equipment and installation works carried out by suppliers and subcontractors.

• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors and the main contractor to ensure timely project execution and minimize delays or rework.

• Prepare and update shop drawings, technical drawings and related project documentation.

• Support project planning by preparing work schedules and participating in client, consultant and internal coordination meetings.

• Assist the Project Manager with daily project execution, including progress tracking, quality control and safety compliance.

• Monitor site materials and equipment to optimize usage and reduce unnecessary wastage.

• Conduct inspections to identify non-conforming works and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.

• Keep track of site progress and maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders.

• Explore new construction methods and technologies to improve productivity and project efficiency.

• Perform other engineering and project-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience with an M&E contractor or in a contractor environment.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

• ISO Internal Quality Auditor certification is an advantage.

• Building Construction Safety Supervisor (BCSS) certification is preferred.

• Good knowledge of site coordination, construction practices and electrical building services.

• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
