Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to support the full project lifecycle of electrical works, from tender evaluation and cost scheduling to site coordination and project closeout. This role requires independent and collaborative work within multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate electrical engineering works for M&E fit-out and A&A projects from inception to completion to ensure timely delivery and quality standards
- Prepare, review, and evaluate Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost schedules, and tender documents to support accurate project budgeting and procurement
- Conduct comparative analysis of quotations to facilitate award engineering and procurement decisions
- Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications to verify design compliance and constructability
- Perform site inspections and supervise installation works to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards
- Liaise with clients, consultants, main contractors, and regulatory authorities (EMA, BCA) to obtain necessary approvals and submissions
- Monitor project progress, track variations, and prepare progress reports to maintain project transparency and control
- Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant Singapore standards including SS638, CP5, and EMA regulations to maintain regulatory compliance
- Prepare project closeout documentation including as-built drawings and operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals for project handover
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in M&E building services, electrical engineering, or related discipline
- Proficient knowledge of LV switchboards, power distribution systems, cable systems, and building electrical installations
- Competent in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams
- Skilled in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) for documentation and design tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Familiarity with Singapore regulatory requirements including BCA, EMA, and relevant codes of practice
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in laboratory, healthcare, research, or institutional project environments
- Familiarity with BIM / Revit MEP software for building information modeling
- EMA Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) qualification or actively pursuing licensure
- Prior experience in award engineering, quantity surveying, or cost management
