Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to design, develop, validate, and document electrical systems for high-precision CNC lathe machines, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, safety, reliability, and global standards.
Responsibilities
- Design complete electrical systems for CNC machine tools, including power distribution, control panels, servo drives, motors, sensors, I/O, and safety circuits to meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMs using CAD software tools for accurate documentation and production support
- Lead product development projects from concept through testing, debugging, iteration, and transition to mass production to deliver reliable CNC solutions on schedule
- Apply internal design standards and engineering best practices, perform self-checks on designs, and evaluate PLC programs (Fanuc & Mitsubishi controllers) to ensure quality and compliance
- Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Procurement teams to troubleshoot technical issues, optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency
- Support new machine model development, design modifications, upgrades, and evaluations to continuously improve product performance and customer satisfaction
- Provide post-launch support by addressing customer feedback, handling technical inquiries and claims, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability
- Manage multiple projects independently and within teams, demonstrating strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including reports, bills of materials, and design records to support production and quality assurance
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in electrical design for machine tools, automation, or robotics equipment, preferably in the CNC machine industry (3+ years preferred)
- Proficiency in CAD software (Unidraf X, BOM, or equivalent) for electrical design and documentation
- Proficiency in PLC programming software (GX Work, GX Developer, Fanuc Ladder) for control system development and evaluation
- Experience with CNC machining processes and precision manufacturing to inform design decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills applied to complex mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience leading product development from concept to mass production
