Electrical Design Engineer for Substations

Duties and Responsibilities of Electrical Design Engineer for substations

1) Design high-voltage of electrical substations

2) Be familiar with the specification requirements on site and also the statutory regulations

3) Plan and plot all key power equipment to handle transmission and distribution of electrical energy.

4) Select and recommend the correct equipment, size and voltage for the size use

5) Prepare the electrical single line diagrams bearing in mind safety, reliability and maintenance

6) Work as a team with secondary systems and other engineers to ensure the primary equipment is properly integrated with control and relay systems.

7) Ensure all designs adhere to national and international standards, client specifications and safety codes.

8) Conduct on-site inspections to understand the work in progress and lookout for discrepancies and workmanship qualities

9) Attend coordination meetings and liaise with subcontractors

Requirements :

Minimum qualifications : Degree in Electrical Engineering

Min 2 years of practical experience working in similar capacity

Proficient in Autodesk Revit and BIM software

Able to work with team members

Able to start work at short notice will have an added advantage

Salary Range : 4000 to $5500 depending on work experience and qualification
